Natasha Abu-Fadel is a Lebanese-American Dance-Movement Artist with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Born in El Paso, Texas, raised between Beirut, Lebanon and Northern Virginia, and landing in Oklahoma, she has built a practice rooted in the body as a site where cultural memory lives and moves.
In 2018 she attended the American Dance Festival Summer Intensive in Durham, NC, and in 2019 the inaugural Embodiology Immersion with Dr. Ama S. Wray — from which she began cultivating an improvisation-centered approach to research and performance. Since then, she continues her education and practice alongside the artists and movement practitioners she crosses paths with.
As a dance-movement educator, choreographer, and performer, her work moves through live performance, film, and the classroom. She thrives alongside theatre directors, musicians, filmmakers, poets, and fellow dancers, discovering creative ranges beyond what she could reach alone.
Her performance and choreographic works have been experienced across Oklahoma and internationally. In 2022 her dance film X PAT BOND screened in Beirut, Dallas, Seoul, Oaxaca, Napoli and in NYC in 2026. In 2024 her work On the Edge of Belonging premiered at Oklahoma Contemporary for the launch of Cure8. Both pieces explore the immigrant and diasporic longing for home away from home.
She is committed to continual transformation through our shared experiences in collaboration, research, and an ever-expanding sense of possibilities in dance — an unfolding rooted in our way of being as movers.
